We were very privileged for the second year in a row to join the team representing Perthshire on Visit Scotland’s Expo show. This time the event have taken place at SECC Glasgow 26-28 April 2017, inviting travel and tour operators from all over the world to see what Scotland has to offer. We have been nominated to be an ambassador of outdoor activities across Perthshire but also talking about Fife, Dundee and Angus as well. That’s exactly what the Barony in Alyth is always happy to share with anyone who visits us.
During the day we had a chance to meet over 20 business on 1-1 bases who where interested bringing their clients from China, India, Hungary, South Africa, Italy, France, Germany and USA to Perthshire in late 2017 and 2018.
We shared with buyers number of active, leisure and sightseeing itineraries they should consider to add to theirs travels next time. One of the best assets to our area, which just is being launched as you are reading this news is the Snow Route leading through Cairngorms National Park. It will start in Blairgowrie and finish in Grantown-on-Spey. We have made an important connections, the Barony & Outdoor Explore during the show to play an important part in the upcoming campaign, so watch this space. You can read more about the project here – link
Going back to the show, we have engaged also with other local authorities and enthusiastically shared the story of the Barony, newest tourism attraction in East Perthshire, located a short drive away from Perth, Dundee and on the doorstep to undiscovered by many Angus and its Glens.
To bring more attention to our, Perthshire, stand, Stuart from the Famous Grouse Experience with a support of Scone Palace and Blair Atholl Castle team created a great mini show. The chair of Visit Scotland, who just walked to our stand was ‘coronated’ on a replica of ‘stone of destiny’ with plenty of cheers and bagpipe music at the background.
